Annely Juda Fine Art is pleased to present an exhibition of sculptures and drawings by June Green. The exhibition will include three slate floor pieces and 12 drawings.
June Green says about her work:
"In the drawings and sculptures I use pebble shapes for their simple, abstract quality and variety of natural forms. All the pebbles I have used come from the same beach at Seaham Harbour. Their organisation over the past 15 years has developed from the formal to the random. The use of the
rectangle became necessary initially to demarcate the arrangement of the shapes and later as a boundary within which the shapes and spaces could be activated. The presence of the rectangle makes a defined area outdoors. The sculptures being outside in the elements has always been a fundamental consideration. By raking, the base of fine gravel is responsive to the placing of the slates. The sculptures themselves are affected by rain and reflections, sun and shadows, frost and snow."
The exhibition will be shown on the third floor of the gallery.
