Annely Juda Fine Art is delighted to participate in the second edition of ART SG at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore from 19th – 21st January 2024.
Our booth focuses on prime examples of works by leading gallery artists including David Hockney, David Nash, Anthony Caro, Suzanne Treister, Leon Kossoff, Elizabeth Magill and Yuko Shiraishi. We will also show important works by twentieth-century avant-garde artists such as Naum Gabo, Kazimir Malevich and Katsuhiro Yamaguchi.
Highlights of our booth will be ipad paintings on paper by David Hockney from his sought after 2021 “20 Flowers” series – a collection of 20 different images of vases of flowers all drawn from life at the artist’s home in Normandy, France. Hockney’s love of flowers, their beauty and vitality exudes from his mastery of line and breathtaking use of colour. We will also show the large “A Bigger Scrabble Players” 2015 photographic drawing which portrays a group of the artist’s friends playing at a games table; the perspective and figures have been manipulated to create multiple viewpoints giving a hypereal sense of space and volume. In other works, artist SuzanneTreister takes a conspiratorial view on AI technology, science fiction and time travel, merging the painterly figuration of her earliest works with complex diagrams and text. Elizabeth Magill’s paintings are enigmatic and evocative psychological takes on the traditional landscape genre - rich with fragmented forms and kaleidoscopic patterning, the images are formed by Magill’s imagination, childhood memories and photographs.
A further highlight will be a special presentation of a major three part sculpture by David Nash who’s deep seated interest in Eastern philosophy - most directly seen in Nash’s referencing the work of the Japanese Monk, Sengai Gibon - to which Nash has returned to throughout his career in the form of his Sphere, Triangle, Cube pyramid drawings, sculptures and installations.
