Installation by Tadashi Kawamata at Annely Juda Fine Art and the Serpentine Gallery, London.
During the refurbishment and closure of the Serpentine Gallery in 1997, Tadashi Kawamata made an installation outside the Serpentine Gallery, mirroring its volume and form with reclaimed wood, utilising the old doors and windows removed from the gallery. Doors and windows not used at the Serpentine installation were taken to Annely Juda Fine Art. Kawamat installed these below the gallery's skylight and inserted an existing hatch in the gallery floor, making a temporary lightwell.
