David Nash and Naum Gabo in 'Making New Worlds: Li Yuan-chia & Friends'

Kettle’s Yard, Cambridge

David Nash is showing an early stained glass piece in a group exhibition at Kettle’s Yard celebrating artist and gallerist, Li Yuan-chia. The show will spotlight Li’s unwavering commitment to creativity, local artists, and contemporary practices. David Nash (who designed the front window of Li’s gallery space in Cumbria) observed that Li created ‘an oasis of how art and life should be’, describing Li himself as a man of ‘humble modesty with outrageous ambition’. Naum Gabo also has a series of small works in the show, pictured in slides 2 and 3.

I can hardly think of a more uplifting show for the dying days of autumn than Making New Worlds at Kettle’s Yard in Cambridge. Everything about it is bright, beautiful, hopeful and as amiable as the subtitle suggests.’ - Laura Cumming for The Observer, four star review
